DC’s fans suffered a setback when the movie which was supposed to set everything correct didn’t hit hard with the critics or the audiences. These mediocre reviews were the last thing DC needed. And with these, blame started to line up on Joss Whedon who created his own Justice League’s iteration going against what Snyder had planned.
Ever since, fans have been desperately demanding Warner Bros. to release the Snyder cut of Justice League, which as per reports, was going to be 3 hours long. But all was for naught.
At last, major new information is now available which divulges out Snyder’s planned vision for the Justice League trilogy. Kevin Smith has given out all this information. He states that Snyder’s Justice League also was somewhat similar to the one we saw in the theatres, with the only difference being that in the climax, Darkseid's cameo was going to delivered wherein we would see Darkseid coming to Earth to get his general, Steppenwolf.
Kevin Smith’s words – “Boom tube closes, and that’s the end of the f###ing movie. With them all knowing there’s something out there, and we have to go.”
Justice League 2 would see our heroes getting together to get to Apokolips to take down Darkseid. The movie was supposed to include The New Gods of New Genesis and also the Green Lantern Corps.
Then Smith revealed an interesting detail in the Justice League trailer. You would remember that the trailer clip ended with Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred talking to a mysterious figure. This started the speculation if Alfred was talking to Superman or Green Lantern, with the former being the more relevant answer. But, it was Green Lantern in Snyder’s movie.
Justice League 2 would’ve had an ominous ending where the League would have lost at the hands of Darkseid. The final movie in the trilogy would see Darkseid coming to Earth to defile it. This would relate to the Knightmare sequence we saw in BvS.
“That was going to be the entire third movie. The heroes’ last stand against Darkseid and the forces of Apokolips – holy f##k!”.
It’s a shame that we didn’t receive any of this. There’s definitely not a Justice League 2 on the lineup of the upcoming DC movies. The studio is now focusing on developing only solo movies. If these do well, we are going to get a Justice League movie.
