Endgame theory claims Hulk didn't come out in IW because of what he saw in his vision in Age of Ultron
The Hulk’s situation has somewhat been a conundrum to the fans who were scratching their heads to figure out the reason Hulk refused to Hulk out in Infinity War. As per the Directors, he is tired of helping Banner and hates for always being called out in serious end moments. This does seem a valid reason given the fact that Hulk bears the mind of a child.
But what if the real reason is being kept secret by the Directors for the sake of not spoiling this year’s biggest cinematic event, Avengers Endgame. Their records speak for them and we know they would employ the subtle art of misdirection.
As per the latest fan theory on the subject, Hulk’s not coming out issue might have something to do with what his Wanda-induced vision was in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Maybe the reason it has been kept a secret for so long is that it has something to do with Endgame.
“So, what did Banner see? What could be his greatest fear? The death of Black Widow…at his own hands? He even leaves at the end of AOU in Hulk form ignoring Widow’s pleas. Because he can’t risk what he saw?”
Further, this theory tries out the various scenarios which could lead to the Hulk finally Hulking out. The significant one of these is the option where he is subjected to Extremis ( remember Iron Man 3?) and the result is the birth of the Red Hulk. Sure thing, this wouldn’t be accurate comics-wise but this certainly could be plausible.
This theorist raises the important questions that yet have to be answered. Also asked is the question about what it was the crashed into the sea at the end of Age of Ultron.
