Spiderman: Far From Home - Jake Gyllenhaal confirms Mysterio is a good guy, talks about real villains

spiderman far from home jake gyllenhaal reveals mysterio is a good guy

Spiderman: Far from Home will be the first installment in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie will reach the fans after Avengers Endgame, which as per the Directors is going to be an emotional ride for all the fans.

Just like Antman And the Wasp was a light-hearted movie after the ‘heavy’ Infinity War, Spiderman: Far from Home could also be expected to cheer up the fans after Avengers: Endgame.
The first teaser trailer for Far from Home was shown in the recent Brazil Comic-Con event and then the trailer description started enveloping the internet which stated that Spidey and Mysterio are the good guys of the movie.

And now the Mysterio of the movie, Jake Gyllenhaal has come out to reveal that his character in the movie is indeed a hero.

Without further ado, here are his words, “It’s basically just about the kids going on a European vacation. We go to London, we go to Prague, we go everywhere. It’s just a really fun thing. There’s a lot of dynamics that go on. A lot of relationship stuff. A lot of cool funny stuff. A lot of fun stunt stuff. The main focus is for him not to be Spiderman per se, but he gets dragged into it. But you know he reluctantly saves the world again with Mysterio. Mysterio’s a good guy in this, they’re both teaming up to kill the game, to defeat these Elemental monsters.”

He further elaborated on what these Elemental monsters are, “Well there are these threats to the world, the Elemental creature, and Mysterio is someone who knows about them and who wants to make sure that the world is safe from them, and Nick Fury asks him to come on and help because he’s the only one who really understands them in a way. And he teams up with the Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman and unfortunately, he has to make him become more than just a Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman.”

Now based on the leaks about Far from Home that have hit the internet in the past couple of months, it seems that these elemental threats are Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. It is already being speculated that we would see Hydroman and Magnum in the movie. These two could constitute as the water and fire elemental threats.
Below is the still of the video Tom Holland shared which ignited the speculation of Hydroman being a part of the movie.

The Far from Home trailer was rumored to release on 18 of this month, but there’s hardly any chance of its arrival this year. It’s possible that Marvel doesn’t want the fans to take their minds off the Endgame trailer. But it ought to arrive soon.
