After Thanos snapped his fingers and initiated The Decimation, we saw him teleported to some other realm where he met with a younger version of Gamora. Although there’s been no evidence to suggest that it even was actually happening, fans are adamant that it wasn’t a hallucination and ever since that realm has been referred to as ‘Soul World’.
This has also led the fans to suspect if the Snapped victims could be in the Soul World. They are certainly not dead.
But the latest information revealed regarding this particular scene is gonna set you scratching your head.
In the latest interview with IGN, Infinity War VFX artists gave out some information about this “Soul World” as the fans call it. They revealed that this location/realm has no official name. For simplicity ’s sake, the place was called “the way station”.
Digital Domain’s Kelly Port then revealed something more interesting. She claimed, “I don’t think it’s a place that actually exists.” She also claimed that only Kevin Feige can say for sure where this place even is.
The whole of this scene was supposed to be as confusing and vague as possible, Marvel Studios’ Dan DeLeeuw stated.
It is certainly possible that this place is indeed the Soul World. If it is, it shall be revealed in the upcoming Avengers: Endgame. But what if it was just a dream. That is possible too.
About the dead heroes being transferred into some other dimension, one fan theory deduced that they were actually transported into the Quantum Realm. With evidence from a scene in Thor 2, this fan deduced that Quantum Realm was the Soul World.
