Thanos is a supervillain who does not wish to take over the world or the whole of the universe. There is some sense of maturity in him that keeps him from showing himself as the strongest being there is. Anyone with the powers the Infinity Stones bestowed upon him would pick up fights with the mightiest beings just to prove their worth. But Thanos is not such a guy. After terminating half of the universe and doing the universe a favor, he just wants to play a simple life. He wanted to just stare at the sunset with a smile on his face expressing how relieved he is now that the universe will be able to sustain.
Unlike the previous villains, Thanos didn’t choose to kill anyone who just stopped his path. We all saw how he sparred our heroes. He could have killed our heroes on Titan but after getting the thing he was after, he left to get the final stone. Even in Wakanda, he didn’t kill anyone other than the one who had to die for him to get the stone. Now, we finally have it from Marvel the reason behind this. Visual department head of Marvel, Ryan Meindering said, “The plan of getting all the Infinity Stones is putting Thanos in a position of being so powerful that he is sort of calmer, more single-minded and more reasonable. He is not necessarily worried about killing the heroes. As long as he accomplishes what he wants to.”

He will surely regret not killing the heroes when he had the chance in Avengers 4 when our heroes will manage to undo his Snap and then defeat him. Thanos’ story is not yet done. He is going to face a lot of fight in the upcoming Avengers 4.
