Prior to Infinity War, we had all known that there will be some goodbyes we will have to say to some beloved characters. Loki was one of them. It seemed pretty obvious from the trailer itself that Loki ( and Vision ) were gonna die in the movie. And this turned out to be true. Loki’s death struck hard with the fans as it took just minutes after the movie commenced. Ever since, some fans have been hellbent on proving that Loki, like all times, has faked his death. A particular point that rose was that Loki didn’t revert back to his original blue form when he was dead.
I've seen many people question why Loki didn't revert back to his jotun form when he died, and whether his death was real based on his lack of transformation. These pages from the Marvel Studios Visual Dictionary explain why Loki remained in his Asgardian form during death. from r/marvelstudiosRelated - No Time Travel, Avengers 4 will introduce the Multiverse, possible leak claims
Now, a Marvel Studios art booklet has given out the answer to this question. The Reddit user ‘ncsar216’ has given out the important information which will rest this speculation of Loki’s death. This user posted two photos from the book. The first pic was stating, “Blue Frost Giant skin transformed by Odin” In the second photo, the part that was highlighted said, “Whenever Loki touches Frost Giants or their relics, he temporarily reverts to his original form, with blue skin and red eyes.” The Reddit post is attached below, take a look.
So, according to this book, death will not cause Loki to revert back to his true form. This rests the speculation. And it wouldn’t make much sense if the Directors chose to reveal that he never died in Infinity war. Most of the deaths in Infinity War will revert back. If all the dead guys come back, that would mean that all the deaths in Infinity War were just fake and it had no high stakes. Nevertheless, Loki fans will surely get more of the Odinson in his own TV series to be streamed on Disney+.
